PGA SOMPO Illuminates Hope at the Electric Night Run 2024
On May 18, 2024, PGA SOMPO joined the “Electric Night Run for Hope” not just as a participating company but also as a sponsor and the event’s official insurance partner. Organized by JCI Manila, the event was more than just a race; it was a unique celebration of fitness, fun, and philanthropy combined into one.

PGA SOMPO Revives Community Spirit: Successful Bloodletting Drive with Philippine Red Cross
Marking a significant milestone in community service, PGA SOMPO conducted a Bloodletting Drive on October 12, 2023, at its office premises, reaffirming their commitment to humanitarian causes. This event held particular significance as it was the first bloodletting drive since October 11, 2019, just before the onset of the pandemic, emphasizing the organization's dedication to contributing to public health.
PGAS and SOMPO Welfare Foundation Presents International Grant to Resources for the Blind, Inc.
On 25 March 2023, PGA Sompo (PGAS) and Sompo Welfare Foundation presented the International Grant to Resources for the Blind, Inc. (RBI), a non-government organization serving blind people all over the Philippines since 1988.
The grant is intended to support RBI’s “Going Beyond Reading” Project. The project aims to address the needs of young children who are blind and with other visual impairment for available and accessible Braille reading materials. The grant will be used to produce Braille books for children in preschool, kindergarten, and beginner levels for distribution to selected schools with blind learners in Metro Manila.

PGA SOMPO Turns Over International Grant To Young Focus
PGA SOMPO (PGAS) and Sompo Welfare Foundation presented an International Grant to Young Focus through a virtual ceremony on 10 February 2022, Young Focus, a non-profit and non-government organization, aims to improve the spiritual and social well-being of young people in poor communities through education and personal support. The event was attended by PGAS officers and employees as well as the Young Focus Team and chosen students.
The grant is intended to support the Young Focus’ Love2Learn Program which focuses on children who have dropped out of elementary school due to poverty and lack of educational and social support. This provides them tutorials and food assistance, aiming to encourage them to re-enroll in regular schools.
Through the years, PGAS remains committed to help less fortunate Filipino children, specially those living in underprivileged areas.
PGA SOMPO TURN OVER DONATION TO ONESIMO BULILIT FOUNDATION
On 24 March 2021, PGA SOMPO’s executive officers officially turned over through a virtual ceremony the International Grant from Sompo Welfare Foundation to Onesimo Bulilit Foundation Inc. (OBFI), a faith-based, non-profit, non-government organization working among street children and their families in Manila.
The grant is intended for Onesimo Bulilit’s student center and will address the need for desktop computers and printers. The student center caters to children at risk and provides access to computers, tutorials and help for homework and school projects. Recognizing the health and physical well-being of these children and their families specially during this pandemic, the grant will also cover hygiene kits and food relief supply for distribution to 160 families in a span of four (4) months.
Over the years, PGA SOMPO together with Sompo Welfare Foundation has continually provided support to different groups in the community as part of its commitment to promote social responsibility.
SJNK WELFARE FOUNDATION AND PGA SOMPO HOLD OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN AND CANCER SURVIVORS
On February 7, 2020 PGA SOMPO and SJNK Welfare Foundation joined Kythe Foundation, Inc., a non-profit, non-stock organization which aims towards improving the quality of life of over 11,000 hospitalized children with cancer and other chronic illness through its Child Life Program.
Mr. Masahiro Sawa of SJNK Welfare Foundation together with PGA SOMPO’s executive officers turned over the International Grant to Kythe Foundation in the presence of the primary beneficiaries of the grant - the cancer survivors. The grant will assist them in their continuing education with the goal of enabling them to have a better future.
Last February 7, 2020, PGA SOMPO and SJNK Welfare Foundation simultaneously volunteered and spent time with pediatric patients at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, one of Kythe’s partner hospitals and engaged them in various activities that allowed them to learn, play and experience a sense of normal childhood.
