Accounting Specialist

Duties and responsibilities: 

  1. Prepares and posts monthly reinsurance journal entries. 
  2. Completes periodic reinsurance account reconciliations. 
  3. Prepares monthly and quarterly reinsurance billing data. 
  4. Monitors reinsurance balances to ensure accounts are settled according to contract terms. 
  5. Coordinates with other departments, brokers and reinsurance companies to resolve discrepancies. 
  6. Submits Treaty Reinsurance-related reports, schedules, and other relevant documents and strictly adheres to submission schedules. 
  7. Files and maintains related accounting documents, records and reports. 
  8. Conducts monthly reconciliation of Documentary Stamps. 
  9. Provides assistance during annual audit and examination conducted by external Auditors, Insurance Commission (IC) and Bureau of Internal Audit (BIR). 
  10. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the immediate superior. 

 

Job skills and requirements: 

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or equivalent; 
  • At least two (2) years experience in Reinsurance Accounting; 
  • With basic knowledge of non-life insurance 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software; 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; 
  • Excellent critical and analytical skills;
